Pricing in Connecticut
What IKEA kitchen installation costs here in 2026
Connecticut has an unusually wide mix of houses for a small state: 1920s colonials in West Hartford, split-levels in Trumbull, shoreline capes in Guilford, high-rise condos in Stamford. Each one changes how the suspension rail goes in, how much filler work the plan needs and how we stage the day.
These are the ranges we see on real quotes. Your number depends on cabinet count, tall and corner units, walls and floors, and which add-ons you want us to handle. The cost calculator gives you a range in a minute; a free plan review gives you an exact quote.

Send your plan
Upload the IKEA Kitchen Planner PDF and item list. We check it for missing fillers, cover panels, hinges and clearances, free, and send an itemized estimate within 3 hours.

Order and schedule
Order at IKEA New Haven or online with delivery. We book installation to start right after your delivery window and tell you exactly what to have ready.
- 3
Delivery day inventory
We check every box against your order list before assembly starts, so missing or damaged parts are reported the same day instead of stopping the job mid-week.
- 4
Installation
One to seven days on site depending on size. Suspension rail, base and wall cabinets, leveling, doors, drawers, hardware, fillers, toe kicks, cleanup. Countertops are templated after cabinets are set.
Local knowledge
What is different about installing in Connecticut
Your IKEA store: IKEA New Haven
Connecticut kitchens come from IKEA New Haven at Long Wharf, right off I-95, with statewide delivery. For Fairfield County customers the store is under an hour away; for Hartford and Litchfield County most people take delivery rather than drive. We time installation to start right after your delivery window and we inventory every box against your order list before the first cabinet goes together, so a missing hinge pack is a quick trip to Long Wharf instead of a stalled job.
Permits and registration in Connecticut
Connecticut requires Home Improvement Contractor registration through the Department of Consumer Protection for residential remodeling, and the state lookup at elicense.ct.gov will show any contractor's status. We include our registration number on quotes and contracts. Permit rules for cabinet replacement vary by municipality; plumbing, electrical and gas work always require licensed trades and permits. Confirm with your town's building official before demolition.
Fairfield County, Hartford and the shoreline
In Greenwich, Darien, Westport and Stamford we work in everything from 1900s colonials to condo towers with loading-dock rules. Hartford County means West Hartford Tudors, Glastonbury and Simsbury colonials and post-war capes with low ceilings. Along the shoreline in Guilford, Madison and Old Saybrook, older summer homes converted to year-round living have the most surprising walls and floors in the state. We have quoted and installed in all three regions and price the differences into the estimate.
Delivery, parking and stairs
Tell us about parking, stairs and elevators when you send the plan. Multi-family buildings in Bridgeport, New Haven and Hartford often mean a walk-up carry; condo associations in Stamford and Norwalk typically want a certificate of insurance and an elevator booking. None of it is a problem if we know in advance.
Sales tax and budgeting
IKEA charges Connecticut sales tax on cabinets and countertops at the time of writing, so budget for it on the materials side. Our installation estimates are itemized by line so you can see labor, add-ons and anything you might handle yourself, such as removing the old kitchen.
